TORONTO -- Toronto FC midfielder Michael Bradley has been fined by Major League Soccer for criticizing the officials after a game, despite the fact that the league commissioner agreed referee David Gantar had erred on a crucial call. Vladimir Radmanovic Jersey . Bradley was upset that Gantar disallowed what would have been a go-ahead goal by Gilberto in the 90th minute of a 1-1 tie against Chicago on Sept. 13. "Its not the first time weve had this guy this year. And what can you say? Hes just not good enough," Bradley said after the game. MLS has since acknowledged the call was wrong. "That referee did not get it right in that game, and we shouldnt be ashamed of saying that," commissioner Don Garber said. "I feel for Toronto FC." The league did not say Tuesday how much money the U.S. national team star was fined. Bradley said after the game in Chicago that Canadian officials are tough on Canadian MLS teams to avoid appearing biased. "They continue to assign Canadian referees when an American team is playing a Canadian team. Because its obvious that now these guys are going to make a conscious effort to show theyre not being biased one way or another," he said. "I cant understand why youd continue to do that." Bradley also criticized the level of refereeing in MLS in general. "Consistently they put referees out there who are in over their heads," he said. "Its a shame, because they ruin games." Braley escaped a fine after criticizing referee Ted Unkel following Torontos 2-1 home loss to Sporting Kansas City on July 26. "Its by no means an excuse, it was the same for both teams, but the referee was absolutely awful," Bradley said after that game. "The people at the MLS (head) office in New York, when they talk about wanting to improve the league, the first thing that needs to be improved is the refereeing, bottom line." Then manager Ryan Nelsen also criticized Unkel and was fined by the league. Jim McIlvaine Jersey . Jets head coach Paul Maurice made the announcement Saturday following the morning skate and confirmed Al Montoya will start in goal against the Dallas Stars on Sunday. Fred Brown Jersey . Sijsling, ranked 74th in the world, was leading 6-0, 4-1 when his Italian opponent called it quits after just 39 minutes on court. In a match pitting together two qualifiers, Michal Przysiezny of Poland defeated local favourite Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (4) for only his second Tour win of the season. https://www.cheapthunder.com/ . Bortles Will Wait The Jacksonville Jaguars are willing to wait to see what third overall pick Blake Bortles can do with the first string offence as according to Mike Florio of ProFootball Talk, Chad Henne will take the reps during the preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Florio believes that the Jaguars are the most likely of the three teams that took a quarterback in the first round of the 2014 draft to keep their rookie on the sideline to start the season. The Cleveland Browns selected Johnny Manziel with the 22nd overall pick and the Minnesota Vikings picked Teddy Bridgewater with the 32nd and final pick of the opening round. Brady and Romo Take A Pass Two more veteran quarterbacks will not be seeing action in their teams respective preseason openers as both Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo according to ESPN Dallas and New England Patriots QB Tom Brady according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald will remain on the sidelines.. Brady has only missed three preseason openers since taking over as the starting pivot for the Patriots (2005, 2008, 2011). Ryan Mallett is expected to take the snaps in his place. Hamidou Diallo Jersey. Meanwhile Romo will give way to Brandon Weeden and this will be the second season in a row that the Cowboys QB is missing the first preseason matchup. Ebron Missing Time Lions could be forced to start the preseason without rookie tight end Eric Ebron who was forced to miss practice on Wednesday. ESPN Detriot Lions reporter Michael Rothstein writes that Jim Caldwell was noncommittal about the status of his first round pick. "Its nothing serious," said Caldwell. "Hell be back. Just maybe a day or two." Rothstein writes that Ebron will be hard to replace for the Lions because they plan to use him next to the offensive line, in the slot, out wide and even in the backfield and he needs as much time as possible to develop in the preseason. Backfield Trouble A day after David Wilson announced his retirement, ESPN.com reports that the Giants also saw Peyton Hillis go down with an injury. "Its an ankle/foot kind of thing," said Giants head coach Tom Coughlin. "It looks like itll be a little while." In the story ESPN notes that Hills was moved to number two on the depth chart after Wilson was placed on IR and now the Giants are left with Rashad Jennings, Andre Williams, Michael Cox and Kendall Gaskins as their depth at the position.
