With Saturday nights loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Winnipeg Jets have now dropped five straight, the teams longest stretch this season without a win. Blake Griffin Jersey . The Jets had a good first period taking a 1-0 lead to the dressing room with Eric ODell scoring his first NHL goal. A Keaton Ellerby shot from the point came off the back boards into the crease area where goaltender Curtis McElhinny had trouble controlling it, allowing ODell to jam it home. Adam Pardy also picked up an assist. The Jets had a goal disallowed as it was deflected in with a stick above the cross bar, and also had Bryan Little hit the cross bar on a clean chance. The shots through one were 7-6 Jets. The second period started with Brandon Dubinsky taking a holding penalty behind the Jets net, sending the Jets to their third power play of the night, and that is where it all started to go south for the Jets. A shorthanded goal by Mark Letestu tied the game, it was the sixth power play goal against the Jets have allowed this season. The goal came 36 seconds into the period, nine seconds after the penalty. At 4:15 Cam Atkinson made it 2-1, 8:26 Nick Foligno made it 3-1, and at 9:07 Boone Jenner scored on a penalty shot to make it 4-1, beating Ondrej Pavelec low blocker. Toby Enstrom at 11:55 with his fifth of the year made it 4-2, the assist to Little. Shots in the second were an even 12-12. The Jets started the third with urgency and created a number of chances but Jenners second of the night from right in front made it 5-2. The Jets again cut into the lead with Little scoring his 15th, snapping an 11-game goalless drought. It was a power play goal with Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien picking up the assists. The Jets have now scored 23 power play goals on the season, Byfuglien has scored five and assisted on 12 others. Byfuglien has six points in his last five games. Any chance of a comeback ended with Letestu scoring his second of the game at 11:14. Final shots were 31-26 Jets. Byfuglien played 17:31 on the right wide with Ladd and Little, had two shots on goal and three hits. Jacob Trouba led the way in ice time with 22:29, Enstrom led the way in shots with five. The frustration was evident everywhere at the MTS Centre, from the bench, to the dressing room, to the fans, to Coach Claude Noels post-game news conference. "That was a tough one," Noel told TSN. "I thought in the first we played with some energy. We accomplished what we tried to do." "Even at 1-1 we had opportunities but missed some great chances. That would have really helped us, but the game certainly unraveled in the second period on mistakes that were stuff that Ive never seen before. Some of the stuff we saw was a little wild, some of the breakdowns weve never done this stuff all year." The game ended a stretch of six straight against Eastern Conference teams. It was the Blue Jackets first regular season game in Winnipeg, leaving Vancouver as the last NHL team yet to play at MTS Centre. The Phoenix Coyotes will be the visitors Monday as the Jets end a three game home stand (TSN Jets, TSN 1290). The 33-year-old defender has spent his entire career at Chelsea, scoring 57 goals in 621 appearances. He regained his regular starting place under Jose Mourinho in the season that ended at the weekend without Chelsea winning a trophy. https://www.cheappistonsonline.com/206y-chucky-atkins-jersey-pistons.html . -- Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo is going to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks.SUNRISE, Fla. - Roberto Luongo has been around the NHL for 15 seasons, and yet the veteran goalie still had a chance to see something new.Luongo and the rest of the Florida Panthers held off the Washington Capitals just enough to earn a 2-1 victory that was finally settled in a record-breaking, 20-round shootout on Tuesday night.Nick Bjugstad scored the decisive goal in the tiebreaker, beating Capitals goalie Braden Holtby on the right side with the 40th shot of the tiebreaker. The previous NHL shootout record was 15 rounds, when the New York Rangers beat Washington on Nov. 26, 2005.Ive never seen anything like that, Luongo said.No one had.The Panthers outscored the Capitals 6-5 in the tiebreaker, and the six goals were the most ever in a shootout. Jussi Jokinen, Dave Bolland, Derek MacKenzie, Sean Bergenheim and Dylan Olsen were also successful for Florida. The Panthers were down to their last shot five times and answered with a goal every time with the pressure on.The great thing is, I dont know how many times guys bailed me out where they had to score to keep it alive and they did every time. It was amazing, Luongo said.Bjugstad was able to gather himself — or at least take a deep breath — before his second attempt in the extended shootout. It helped.I kind of relaxed, took a deep breath and tried going in there with confidence, and it worked out, Bjugstad said.Bjugstad, who missed in the second round, held the puck, deked and then fired it past Holtby into the open net.Alex Ovechkin, Brooks Laich, Joel Ward, John Carlson and Brooks Orpik had shootout goals for the Capitals.MacKenzie scored in regulation for Florida, and Luongo made 23 saves.Troy Brouwer scored in regulation for Washington and Holtby stopped 28 shots. The Capitals have points in six straight games.Even though we lost, it was very entertaining, Brouwer said. We were having a little fun on the bench. We would have liked to come out on the other end of it. Anytime you go 20 shooters in a shootout, thats entertaining. The Capitals are 1-3 in shootouts this season. At first youre (thinkinng), Just get the shootout victory, but once it got to 15, 16, 17, actually it was quite fun, Capitals coach Barry Trotz said. Ray Scott Jersey. You just sort of lived in the moment and hope that you got the two points. Unfortunately, we didnt. But not everyone enjoyed the extended shootout, which lasted 17 minutes, 43 seconds. It definitely wasnt fun to be a part of it, Holtby said. Being on the end that I had to make a save numerous times when the game was on the line and I didnt; thats not a fun spot to be in.The Panthers are 4-0-1 in their last five home games. The win was only their second in their past 12 games against the Capitals. The Panthers lost Oct. 18 in a shootout at Washington. The previous record for the Panthers was 11 shootout rounds on Nov. 28, 2007, also against the Capitals.Florida is 3-4 in shootouts. That was exciting. Everybody loved that, especially with the way it ended, winning a game like that with Bjugstads goal, Panthers coach Gerard Gallant said. With the score tied 1-all at 3:08 of the third, it appeared the Capitals took the lead when the puck slid by Luongo and into the net. The goal was overruled after a video review because it was determined that Laich kicked in the puck with his left skate. The Panthers took a 1-0 lead when MacKenzie one-timed a rebound at 9:36 of the first. The Capitals tried to clear from behind the net and the puck went off the skate of Floridas Scottie Upshall and out in front, where MacKenzie beat Holtby on the glove side. The Capitals tied it on Brouwers power-play goal in the second. Alex Ovechkin passed from the left circle across to Brouwer in the slot. His wrist shot beat Luongo on the glove side at 14:35 for his ninth goal of the season.I think we made some history tonight, and the chances of that happening again are one in a million, Trotz said.NOTES: Holtby made his 13th consecutive start for the Capitals. ... Panthers defenceman Dylan Olsen played his 100th NHL game. ... Upshall and Aleksander Barkov returned to the Florida lineup after missing nine and six games, respectively. ' ' '
